Your Labels Aren’t Life Commitments

Quick reminders about labels (paraphrased excerpts from my #HappyPolydays convo with Leanne Yau of Poly Philia Blog)

"Your labels aren't life commitments" - Leanne Yau

"We were all babies once. Are we ‘baby frauds’ because we're adults now? No, it's just the natural passing of time and change and you learn more about the world and about yourself.

It's so cliché, but it's so true: the only constant is change. And I feel that it’s so true for non-monogamy, since people have to learn and grow a lot faster or more intensely than people who follow more monogamous or mono-normative journeys. So we've gotta' embrace change.

It doesn't mean that we can't struggle. Struggle's definitely a part of it and at the end of the day, as long as we live and we learn, that's all we can ask of ourselves." - Michelle Hy

Remember to reflect:

Are these labels serving you or are you serving the ideas of these labels?
